Calvar'ion

Combat level 264 · 150 hitpoints

The singles-plus variant of Vet'ion, fought in the Skeletal Tomb at level 21 Wilderness. Two forms of 150 hitpoints each, hellhounds at half of every bar, and an all-AoE attack set the page says can be dodged outright. The same five uniques as Vet'ion at lower rates: Skull of Vet'ion, Ring of the gods, Voidwaker blade, Dragon 2h sword and Dragon pickaxe.

Requirements

  • Skeletal Tomb, a singles-plus area in level 21 Wilderness
  • Hard Wilderness diary, OR a Vet'ion boss Slayer task (a skeleton task does not bypass the diary)
  • 50,000 coin entry fee, falling by 10,000 per kill for whoever deals the most damage, and not charged again on later trips unless it is lost to another player
  • Suggested by the strategy page: 70 Attack, 70 Strength, 70 Defence, 75 Hitpoints, 70 Prayer

Pointers

  • CRUSH AND NOTHING ELSE. He is "resistant to any combat style other than [[crush]]", and his crush defence is NEGATIVE 10 against +130 stab, +128 slash, +198 magic and +211 ranged.
  • He is undead, so a Salve amulet applies and its enhanced version applies harder. The page names it as the reason.
  • PRAYER DOES NOT ANSWER HIS MAIN ATTACK. The lightning is magic in a 3x3 area and "[[protection prayers]] are ineffective against the lightning"; the sword swing in the animation deals no melee damage at all. You dodge it, you do not pray it.
  • Every attack he has is an AoE, so "if the player avoids them, they can essentially take no damage from his attacks". The sim has no dodge model, so treat its damage-taken figure here as the worst case rather than the expected one.
  • The shield bash is the one that punishes melee: up to 26 damage AND 4.8 seconds unable to attack, and it is only used when you are in melee distance.
  • At half of EACH bar he summons two hellhounds that channel immunity to him until they die. They have 30 hitpoints each, so this is a pause rather than a wall, but there is no skipping past it.

What the sim brings here

Every worn slot and every inventory row below is the combat simulation's own output, at the style it ranks fastest for each account tier. Each line carries the channel that chose it: sim means the model solved it, and inherited means the value came through from the hand-authored loadout the solver starts from. Riding through a generator does not make a value derived, so those are marked rather than presented as the model's answer. A line marked unattributed carries a channel the model's own vocabulary no longer declares, so no word is put on it at all rather than one being read off the channel's spelling. Where the model has not answered a row, its own refusal is printed instead; where it has answered a row it doubts, the answer is printed with the doubt attached rather than withheld.

max tier, melee (Melee is fastest)

Worn gear: 11 of 11 slots chosen by the sim.

  • Head: Torva full helm sim
  • Cape: Infernal cape sim
  • Neck: Salve amulet (e) sim
  • Ammo: nothing sim
  • Weapon: Ursine chainmace sim
  • Body: Inquisitor's hauberk sim
  • Shield: Avernic defender sim
  • Legs: Torva platelegs sim
  • Hands: Ferocious gloves sim
  • Feet: Avernic treads (max) sim
  • Ring: Ultor ring sim

The model doubts this gear (ranked without a risk term): this is Wilderness content and the gear search ranks on dps then kills per trip, neither of which prices the chance of LOSING the loadout. So this answer is best-in-slot at exactly the encounters where players deliberately bring a rag set, and it is very likely wrong about what you should actually carry. It is shown rather than withheld because a blank row tells you nothing you can act on. Closed by the carried-value ceiling Shane ruled on 2026-09-02, a player-set bound on pvpLoss(loadout).total that lets the search rank under a risk constraint without inventing a death probability. THE WIRE FOR IT EXISTS AS OF 2026-09-08 and this run did not set one: the per-tier default ceilings are Shane's to choose and he has not been asked, so absence here means no opinion rather than a number nobody ruled.

What each of those badges means

  • derived:ascent (sim): an accepted coordinate-ascent move: betterThan() preferred this candidate over the incumbent under the row objective and band. The weapon+ammo+shield pairing and the crystal set arrive here too, because both are offered to the same acceptance test.
  • derived:cheapestEqual (sim): cheapestOfEquals(): at budget, an exactly-tied cheaper item replaced the one in this slot. It changes the price and, by construction, not the score.
  • derived:composed (sim): balanceInventory() sized this row from the derived supply menu. The menu enumerates CONSUMABLES and narrows by style, tier and price; it is not the authored bag.
  • derived:empty (sim): the finished loadout leaves this slot EMPTY, and that is an ANSWER rather than a gap: a two-handed weapon forfeits the shield and a weapon that stores its own ammunition frees the ammo slot. Recorded so a null slot is never read as unprovenanced.
  • derived:obtainable (sim): canonicaliseObtainable(): the finished loadout named a variant the model cannot state a route to, and this pass swapped it for the obtainable equal.
  • derived:seedWeapon (sim): the weapon the ascent BEGAN from, taken off the dps-ranked weapon shortlist, or the forced weapon of a multi-start seed. Never off a start loadout.
  • derived:spec (sim): a carried special-attack weapon PROPOSED by `specPlan` (specchoice.js), which prices every SPEC_ATTACKS weapon that deals damage or drains defence on top of the bag solved without one, and KEPT by `judgeSpecArms` only where the composed bag with it beats the bag without it under `compareScores`. The row's `kpt.specWeapon` carries both arms.
  • derived:travel (sim): travelPlan(): the way IN, ranked out of the derived transport graph against this account's own unlocks, rather than copied from whatever a human typed. The way OUT is a separate channel (`ruled:escape`) because it is a typed choice, not a ranking.
  • ruled:escape (ruled): escapeLeg(): the way OUT, taken from the typed per-tier table ESCAPE_PLAN and judged against the account, with nothing substituted and no fallback ladder. The ACCOUNT CHECK is a derivation; the CHOICE of item is not, so this is not a `derived:` channel. ESCAPE_PLAN carries no attributedTo field (PROVENANCE_BACKLOG: silent-and-unattributed), so this channel does not claim one either.
